A Message from New HOA President, Amanda Young
May 6, 2011 by admin
Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s annual meeting. Attendance was much higher this year than in years past. It’s always great to see new faces and people wanting to get involved in the community!
We would like to send a huge thank you to outgoing Board members Craig Moore and Anjuli Herrington for their time spent serving on the Board. Their efforts and dedication to the community know no bounds. We greatly appreciate their service and wish them nothing but success in their future endeavors.
I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce the two new Board members elected at the annual meeting. Jennie Huerta, a resident for more than 2 years, will serve as Vice President and Secretary. Colette Bonstead will serve as Treasurer, Colette has been a resident for 5 years and has served as the Social Committee Chair for the last 2 years. Welcome aboard!
We always like to hear your ideas and suggestions, so please don’t hesitate to send an email to the Board. We want to continually improve the neighborhood and make it a place where we all enjoy living. Thanks again!
-Amanda Young, President
2011 Annual Meeting Architectural Committee Presentation Available
April 22, 2011 by admin
The Scofield Ridge Architectural Committee (ACC) made a homeowner presentation at the 2011 Annual Meeting. This presentation includes information on the process and requirements to receive HOA clearance for home improvement/augmentation projects, and a refresher on key HOA guidelines related to such projects.
To learn more about how close you can build/improve near a property line, how high you can build a shed, or even what guidelines apply to the addition of solar panels (they’re encouraged, with some restrictions) or “zeroscaping” your lawn–and the quick and easy process to gain approval for any of these or many other projects–read the 2011 ACC presentation.
The Pool is Open Early!
April 1, 2011 by admin
Looking forward to countering the hot days with a cool swim? Get your towels and waterproof sunblock ready, because the pool is open early again this year, as of TODAY, April 1st!
(Please note, however, that there will NOT be lifeguards until the regular swim season from Memorial Day until Labor Day, so any swimming will be at your own risk.)
- The gate system has been replaced and you should have received a notice in the mail to get your new keycard. If you have lost the form, it is available at http://sco.goodwintx.com to print and send in. There will be no charge to get your first new keycard. As always, if you have issues with your keycard or have lost yours, you can contact debra.johnson@goodwintx.com.
- We have contracted with a new pool maintenance/lifeguard company for the 2011 swim season, Lifeline Aquatics. If you are interested in summer employment as a lifeguard for the pool, Lifeline Aquatics will be hiring soon. They will also offer swimming lessons. (For more information on lifeguarding opportunities or to register for swimming lessons, visit www.lifelineaquatics.com.)
- To curb unauthorized use of our pool, a new system will be in place to keep track of people entering the pool area. During the regular swim season when lifeguards are on duty, keycards will be checked and verified by an attending lifeguard. This will also provide useful stats on whether we have enough lifeguards on duty at the most appropriate times.
- This year a drink vending machine has been installed at the pool. Bottles will cost $0.80 each. Please remember to recycle empty bottles in the blue recycling bin at the pool.
If you see any issues at the pool or playground area, please send the committee an email at pool@scofieldridge.org. Let’s make this a fun and safe swim season again this year!
Welcome to Our New Site!
February 8, 2011 by admin
Welcome to the new and improved HOA Web site!
A key priority of your HOA Board has been the continuing growth of communication and sense of community here at the Ridge at Scofield Farms. The redesigned site retains the simplicity and ease of navigation of the old site, while making it easier than ever before to learn more about community activities, browse current and former editions of the newsletter, and find important points of contact for community matters.
Additionally, the site serves as a jumping off point for related web sites with important information, including the Goodwin Property Management site (with access to HOA forms) and the Yahoo! Groups Scofield Ridge community forum.
The HOA Board hopes that the revamped site is useful to you, making your experience of our great community even better. If you have any ideas of additional features to include on the site or ways to make it (or any aspect of our community) better, drop us a line!
(Special thanks to The BZ Group for their redesign, maintenance, and continued improvements to the Ridge Reporter newsletter and Scofield Ridge site!)
